Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!” (John 8:58)
I can hear the Father through the Son as Jesus says I AM because they are ONE. Jesus is talking as the pre-existing Son of God. Think about the most powerful man or woman in the world in history, and know that before they were even conceived Jesus was the I AM. Jesus doesn’t say that He ‘was’ but that He ‘IS’ because God is eternally present. This is why Jesus said "I and the Father are one.” ( John 10:30)
For the Pharisees, Abraham was that most powerful person in history. They felt pride in connecting their origin to Abraham. Jesus is the origin of ALL origins. Before the first human being Adam, was created, Jesus was the I AM. Jesus has always said the TRUTH and He is BEFORE ALL in the past, present and future. He is who He is no matter what you and I believe. No one and nothing can ever change the fact that Jesus is the I AM. We can establish our lives on the Hope and Foundation that Was, Is, and Forever will be in Jesus the great I AM. He deserves prominence in our daily life.
Before we do anything, we submit all things to the One who is before all things, and who holds all things together.
Consult Him and consider Him first in your life today!
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17)
